Special Weather Statement In Effect For Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick

It wouldn’t be a morning in Greater Moncton without a special weather statement now would it.

Environment Canada issued one this morning for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.

Meteorologist Steve Fougere says there is a developing system that isn’t quite formed yet. He says if it ends up being a little stronger or tracks a little further north, then it could bring more snow to the Moncton region. They’re keeping a close eye on it to see how it develops.

It could also bring high winds with it, which will means some blowing and drifting snow.

As it stands right now, there is about 10 centimetres of snow forecast for the Moncton region.

Parts of Nova Scotia are under a winter storm warning.
