Southeastern NB Expected To Escape Brunt Of Storm

The snow that falls in the Southeastern part of the province might not be as significant as first thought, with this weather system expected to arrive tomorrow night.

Meteorologist Linda Libby says the snow is expected to arrive late Thursday, and then change to rain early Friday morning, “Looking at snowfall amounts of less than five centimetres, possibly even up to 8 centimetres before the snow changes over to rain. There are parts of New Brunswick that could see 20 to 30 plus centimetres, but those are areas in the central and northwestern parts of the province.”

Libby says one of the concerns will be the wind. They could causing blowing snow tomorrow night, and may prompt Environment Canada to issue a winter storm warning for parts of the province.

Once the temperatures rise, we could see rainfall amounts of between 5 to 10 millimetres on Friday.
