Changes from the Department of Social Development this week could make life a little bit more convenient for some recipients of social assistance.
Cheques are now available at designated sites around the province in an effort to prevent delays by sending them through the mail.
On Thursday and Friday from 9 to 4, you can pick up your cheques in Southeast New Brunswick at locations in Moncton, Shediac, Sackville and Richibucto.
If you choose to pick up your cheque through this method, you must have your health card and another piece of ID or two pieces of indentification.
Only social assistance payments will be available for pick up at the designated sites.
All other monthly payments that are not direct deposit can be picked up at the department’s regional offices.
