It’s going to be messy day weather wise tomorrow.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.
Meteorologist Spencer Clements says the storm is expected to begin Tuesday morning and continue to get heavier throughout the day.
“We could see total amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres before it begins to changeover through ice pellets and possibly even some freezing rain, to a period of rain on Tuesday evening and Tuesday night.”
Clements says, we could also have a significant rainfall with up to 25 millimetres expected before it wraps up on Wednesday morning.
He adds, temperatures will be slow to rise, “So through the day while it is snowing, we’re expecting it to rise to 0. As we transition through ice pellets and freezing rain up to around plus 1 in the afternoon. As we go through the night, we could see temperatures rise as high as 7 to 10 degrees above 0 by Wednesday morning.”
He adds, there is a risk of blowing snow throughout the afternoon, before the snow transitions to rain.
Right now, Clements says alerts are in effect for around two thirds of the southern parts of the province, “But we will see snow affecting the entire province. As we move forward with future forecasts, we are expected those to expand further north. So the entire province will be affected by the snow portion of the storm.”
