A growing political movement which started in France has arrived in our part of the world with protests scheduled for the three biggest cities in New Brunswick this past weekend.
About 20 people gathered in front of Saint John City Hall on Saturday for a “yellow vest” protest, while less than half a dozen showed up at Moncton City Hall.
Protesters spoke on a number of issues, including the Trudeau government’s carbon tax and Canada’s decision to sign the U-N Migration Pact.
The non-binding document outlines “a common approach to international migration,” but some argue it could give foreign entities influence over Canada’s immigration system.
Party member Adrien Bordage says Canada needs to look after its citizens first before it helps out other nations.
