Crossroads for Women has received a significant donation from national retailer Sleep Country.
The company is replacing the bedding at the Moncton women’s shelter by donating 16 new mattresses along with pillows, mattress covers and sheet sets.
Crossroads executive director Tina Thibodeau says it’s an amazing donation.
“It means the world. It’s funny how people will say a bed… it makes such a big difference for us… beds. The first thing that we provide for a client is a bed… is a road over her head… is safety,” Thibodeau says.
Thibodeau says Sleep Country contacted them which she adds was wonderful yet unusual since the women’s shelter normally has to jump through a lot of hoops to access funding.
