The general manager of Poley Mountain Ski Resort says this year’s ski season can be divided up into three parts.
Bill Anderson says a cold start allowed for lots of snow making, topsy-turvy temperatures created a melt in the middle and operations went full tilt near the end with lots of natural snow.
Anderson says the hill averages about 92 skiing days per season and this year they had 91.
“We were pretty well on par. It has just been the last month or five weeks that we’ve had 100 percent of the mountain all open,” he says.
Although Poley Mountain is now closed for skiing, Anderson notes the lodge will still be open for a number of upcoming events and the venue can be booked for weddings and other special occasions throughout the summer.
