RCMP have arrested six people and seized drugs and weapons in Napan near Miramichi.
Mounties were called about a suspicious vehicle at a gas station last Friday (May 8) which was later found at a nearby home on Route 11 in Napan.
The driver was taken into custody and several items were seized from the vehicle including a weapon similar to brass knuckles, a drug believed to be crystal meth and drug equipment.
Twenty-three-year-old Ryleigh Dingwell of Miramichi faces numerous charges:
- two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- two counts of failure to comply with probation order
- possession of a prohibited weapon
- assault on peace officer
- assault on peace officer with a weapon
- obstruction / resisting arrest
- possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
Officers also carried out a search warrant in the home and seized items including drugs, a firearm, knives and a sum of Canadian currency.
Thirty-year-old Terry Hurshman of Napan also faces numerous charges:
- possession of a prohibited firearm
- possession of a prohibited weapon
- possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
Four others were arrested at the home but later released pending future court dates.
