Shooting In Moncton Leaves One Man Dead

A 22-year-old Moncton man has been charged with first-degree murder after a shooting in the downtown area.

RCMP Constable Isabelle Beaulieu says they received reports of shots fired at around 9:30 last night on Sangster Street.

When officers arrived they found a badly injured man inside a home.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

A man was arrested at a nearby home a short time afterward.

Jake Mischiek has been charged with the first-degree murder of 27-year-old Josh Daley of Moncton.

He remains in custody awaiting another court appearance.
