MONCTON, NB–New Brunswick Liberal leader Brian Gallant is insisting that shale gas development will not be part of his party’s election campaign.
The writ has yet to be officially dropped but the governing Tories have already launched TV ads promoting shale gas.
Gallant says fracking is not part of his party’s agenda, “We need a moratorium on fracking until we fully understand what that method could pose in terms to our environment and our health.”
The Liberal Leader has unveiled a jobs platform that would include creating an arms-length Crown Corporation called Opportunities New Brunswick and adds if he becomes premier, he would personally chair a provincial jobs board.
