Several Remembrance Day Ceremonies To Be Held Across the Region

Canadians will pause and remember those who fought for our freedom on this day with Remembrance Day ceremonies planned for numerous communities in and around Metro Moncton.

With two Canadian soldiers killed in Quebec and Ontario recently and June’s tragic RCMP shootings in Moncton, this year’s ceremonies could take on an even deeper meaning for many.

The largest indoor event in our region is being hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion at the Coliseum starting at 10:30.

Also in Moncton, the Sunny Brae Legion is hosting an outdoor event with a parade that will leave the legion branch on Broadway Street at 10:40 and head to the cenotaph on Massey Avenue.

A parade and ceremony will take place in Dieppe at Anna-Malenfant School, starting at 11.

In Riverview, a service is being held at Immaculate heart of Mary Church beginning at 10:50-am.

In Sackville, a parade will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26 on Lorne Street at 9:30am. Veterans will march to Convocation Hall and then to the Sackville cenotaph for a ceremonial laying of the wreaths at 11am… They will then march back to the Legion..

In Salisbury, a service is planned at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 31 on Main Street at 10am. Al laying of the wreaths will be held at 11am at the Salisbury Cenotaph.

And in Shediac, Remembrance Day Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. at the L.J.R. High School gymnasium.
