Sentence for former Mountie to be handed down today

A former mountie who pleaded guilty to cocaine possession for the purpose of trafficking is expected to be sentenced today.

Fifty-year-old Albert Charles Michelin was arrested in November of 2013 in Salisbury.

He was a Constable with the RCMP at the time, but had been suspended with pay after an unrelated code of conduct investigation in 2012.

Michelin quit the force while he was in custody facing drug charges.
