A 65‑year‑old man from Sainte‑Anne‑de‑Kent has been sentenced to three years in prison after an RCMP investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
The New Brunswick RCMP said its Internet Child Exploitation Unit began the investigation in 2023.
Police said officers executed a search warrant at a home in the community in November of that year, arrested a man at the scene and seized several electronic devices.
He was later released on conditions while the investigation continued.
The man was identified as Dominique Joseph Tremblay, according to the RCMP.
Police said Tremblay was charged on April 30, 2024, in Moncton Provincial Court with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
The RCMP said he pleaded guilty on October 6, 2025, to possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Police said Tremblay was sentenced on June 12 to three years in prison.
He will also have to follow court‑ordered conditions for 20 years after his release, including not communicating with anyone under 16 and not attending places where people under 16 are known to be.
Mounties added that he must also register under the Sex Offender Information Registration Act for 20 years.
