Saint John Harbour Election Results Return To Court

A dispute over September’s election results in the riding of Saint John Harbour will be back before a judge on Saturday.

Progressive Conservative candidate Barry Ogden lost to Liberal candidate Gerry Lowe by 10 votes.

Ogden and his team allege there were several voting irregularities which may have affected the results of the election.

During a hearing in late December, the judge dismissed a motion by Elections New Brunswick’s lawyers to have Ogden’s lawyers removed from the case.

Justice Hugh McLellan also ruled a document which Elections NB said was leaked to Ogden’s team did not have to be released right now.

McLellan called the case “a tangle of trouble that needs sunlight to disperse the cloud.”

The application is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
