Saint John Corrections Officer Arrested For Trafficking

A correctional officer working for the Department of Public Safety at the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre was arrested yesterday by the Major Crime Unit of the Saint John Police Force.

He appeared in a Saint John court this morning, charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana and possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000.

Officials at the SJRCC have been working with police agencies on this file and the Department of Public Safety has stated it takes this matter “very seriously.”
