Sackville Requiring Masks In Municipal Buildings

The Town of Sackville will be requiring masks in all indoor areas of municipal buildings.

The change will take effect at 12 noon on Friday, September 4.

The mask requirement applies to buildings such as town hall, the visitor information centre (including the Sackville Craft Gallery), the Sackville Public Library, the Bill Johnstone Memorial Park Fieldhouse and the Tantramar Veterans’ Memorial Civic Centre when it reopens to the public.

In addition to current physical distancing measures and hand hygiene, the town says wearing masks, which is a proven preventative and respectful measure, will protect the entire community and will allow everyone to feel more confident in town buildings.

“We must continue to be vigilant and do what we can to minimize the impact of a potential second wave of COVID-19”, said Mayor John Higham.

“Mandating masks in the indoor public areas of our municipal buildings will play a key role in protecting people who use these buildings, while also demonstrating leadership for organizations in our community who may wish to implement a similar requirement in their own public spaces.”
