Ruptured Line at the Courtenay Bay Terminal Off The Causeway

Lots of emergency responders on Bayside Drive after a possible ruptured gas line carrying from the Courtenay Bay Terminal .

It’s being treated as a Level 2 Hazmat situation.

An immediate evacuation has been ordered, and firefighters are going door to door.

Traffic is also blocked on Bayside Drive and the causeway as residents are being asked to stay away from the area.

Firefighters are doing house to house notifications on River Road and the Animal Shelter may be evacuated.

Readings are being taken in the area.

The Saint John Emergency Measures Organization is activating Level 1 Enhanced Monitoring for the pipeline breach, and Irving representatives are on scene.
