The father of a true Canadian hero has passed away.
Rolland Fox, the father of Terry Fox, died yesterday at the age of 80.
Fox had been diagnosed with lung cancer last month. In a statement on the Terry Fox Foundation page, it said, “He fulfilled his promise to Terry, facing cancer with courage, grace and plenty of humour. He thanked everyone, every time as they left the room after caring for him and each and every family member and friend after a visit.”

Rolland’s son, Terry Fox, ran over 5000 kilometres in 1980 to raise money for cancer research, after losing his leg as a result of this horrible disease. He died a year later at the age of 22.
Terry Fox’s father, Rolland, passed away. May the good Lord let Mr. Fox sleep comfortably, and once again be reunited with his son.
