Riverview Swimmer Proud To Represent NB At Canada Games

Members of Team New Brunswick who represented the province at the Canada Games this month in Winnipeg are very proud of their accomplishments.

Brooklyn Douthwright of Riverview carried the flag during the closing ceremonies and she was the province’s top medal winner.

The 14-year-old swimmer says it was her goal to be chosen as the flag bearer and she was proud to do so.

She was also excited to be able to represent the province in that way.

She received four of the 24 medals brought back by Team New Brunswick athletes.

But she told us that it was the goal of all the athletes to do well, and represent New Brunswick the best way they could.

Douthwright was asked what she plans to do now…

“I’m going to get some time off and I’m going to come back and train even harder. Hopefully make some national teams and just improve my overall performances,” she adds.

She is hoping her hard work will lead her to the Olympics in 2020.
