The Town of Riverview is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Recognizing Riverview Awards, an annual celebration that shines a spotlight on the people and organizations that make the community such a vibrant place to live, work, and play. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Riverview Arts Centre.
Launched in 2023, the Recognizing Riverview Awards were created to bring the town’s various community awards together under one unified event. In just a few short years, the program has become a meaningful tradition.
Residents, schools, community groups, and local organizations are encouraged to submit nominations before the Monday, March 9, 2026 deadline.
Honouring Outstanding Volunteers
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting Riverview’s programs, services, and community life. Community organizations are invited to nominate volunteers who have gone above and beyond in the past year across five categories:
- Schools & churches
- Sports & youth organizations
- Essential services
- Committees & service clubs
- Charities & non-profits
A selection committee will review all submissions and select one Volunteer of the Year in each category. Recipients will be recognized during the awards ceremony and presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Mayor.
Celebrating Youth Achievement
Riverview’s Youth Appreciation Awards recognize Grade 12 students who demonstrate excellence and leadership both in and beyond the classroom. Through partnerships with Riverview High School and the Optimiste Club Moncton-Dieppe, students may be nominated in one of four categories:
- Arts & Culture
- Sports & Athletics
- Academics
- Community Service
Jim Dewolfe Community Spirit Award
The Jim Dewolfe Community Spirit Award honours a current or former long-time Riverview resident or business owner whose commitment to community service has left a lasting impact. Named after the late Jim Dewolfe – a lifelong volunteer and respected community builder – this award recognizes individuals whose leadership, generosity, and civic pride continue to shape Riverview.
Recognizing Local Businesses
Riverview’s Business Awards celebrate the local businesses that contribute to the town’s economic vitality and community character. Members of the public are invited to nominate their favourite businesses in the following categories:
- Best in Food & Beverage
- Best in Retail
- Best in Service
- Business Longevity
