A Riverview family displaced by fire have found a temporary home for the summer thanks to a local non-profit group.
Big Hearts, Small City helped the family of five connect with another family who offered up their home since they have a summer trailer in Shediac.
Neighbours and emergency responders pulled 22-year-old Matt Ward out of his burning home on Glengarry Lane last Thursday.
Ward, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation but is doing much better now.
The temporary home will allow the family to deal with its insurance company and repairs needed to their home which received fire and smoke damage.
Through YouTube, the Toronto Maple Leafs reached out to Ward with player well wishes and have sent him more memorabilia to add to his already huge collection – mostly left undamaged by the fire.
