Riverfront Market An Opportunity For Creativity

Shane Myers’ vision for the Moncton Riverfront Evening Market includes thousands of people, hundreds of vendors, and a carnival atmosphere.

For the market’s first night, the owner of Creative Works Moncton will be happy with a few vendors, a decent crowd and live music.

Tonight, Myers and the Moncton Riverfront Evening Market will provide all of that at the market located between the Creative Works building and Riverfront Park. Vendors of food, leather goods, pottery and other unique items will be accompanied by two live performances.

The evening market will continue every Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. until September.

Myers’ inspiration for the market came through the negative effects the pandemic had on vendors.

“This will be a good opportunity for them to get out and earn some extra money and pay off some of those bills that built up through COVID,” said Myers.

The requirements for those interested in participating remain broad Myers says if you have something unique to sell, this may be your opportunity.

“If anybody is selling a service they think is unique and would be open to some new exposure we’re open to everybody.”

The creator of the Moncton Riverfront Evening Market is not expecting immediate success, instead, he is focused on slowly growing.

“The end game is to make it a fun, exciting evening throughout the summer so that tourists have a reason to stay in town.”
