Codiac Transpo is asking its riders to help Food Depot Alimentaire with a few donations today.
The transit service is offering free rides with the donations of a non perishable food item. One item, .gets you a free ride.
Senior Transit Planner with Codiac Transpo Marie Claire Pierce says there are always people in need, “November is a pretty slow time for the Depot from what we understand. Most people start donating in December and closer to Christmas.”
She says Codiac Transpo used to do a similar thing many years ago, but they stopped. Now they’ve decided to revive it, because it’s a great opportunity to help out the local food banks.
