RFD Extinguishes Afternoon Blaze

A fire at a mobile home in Riverview has left one resident displaced.

Riverview Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a fire on River East Drive around 1:07 p.m. on Monday. Upon arrival, emergency services could see smoke leaking out of the residence.

It took firefighters 20 minutes and over 300 gallons of water to extinguish the flames.

The home was empty at the time, and nobody was injured in the incident; however, it is believed that there is extensive damage to a bedroom and smoke damage throughout the property.

In addition to RFD, the Moncton Fire department, Ambulance NB and NB Power all assisted in extinguishing the afternoon blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
