Restructuring Sees Economic Development And Events Role Eliminated At City Of Moncton

As a part of restructuring within the City of Moncton, the position of General Manager of Economic Development and Events has now been eliminated.

A statement from City Manager Marc Landry, thanked Maurice Belliveau for the energy and dedication he brought to the organization over the past four and a half years.

Landry says they carried out a review of their organization and came to a decision regarding the current Economic Development and Events Services department. Catherine Dallaire, who is the General Manager of Parks, Leisure, Culture and Heritage will now be responsible for events, tourism and venues.

Landry added that the City’s overall programs and services will now be the responsibility of six general managers, down from seven.

Belliveau was hired to replace Ian Fowler, after he passed away in 2011.
