Spring is in the air, and next month the Magnetic Hill Wharf Village will come to life again.
President and CEO of Wharf Village Jenna Cann says there was a lot of work to do. Everything from renovating the exterior of the buildings, to overhauling the wharf itself, and also recreating the inside of the buildings as well.
They are going to be ready to open on Mother’s Day weekend, “We will have ice cream and fudge and lots of candy and we will have a restaurant and a cafe with baked goods. We will certainly have lots of tasty treats for everyone to enjoy.”
Cann says she grew up in Moncton and often visited the Wharf Village, “I really loved the ambience of being on the Wharf, with the birds in the water, and the white lights around. I always loved the Atlantic Canadian feel. There was a variety of things there that stayed true to our East Coast nature. So, that is one thing we are really focusing on in every building.”
They are running seven of the nine building themselves, and they are employing and filling them as well.
“The cafe we are bringing in and we will be carrying Down East coffee, so we have a tenant there who is doing an exceptional job. We will also have a souvenir shops which is being rented,” Cann says.
