Five child pornography related charges have been laid against a man from Renous.
Thirty-five-year-old Vitali Chabanov appeared in Miramichi Provincial Court on February 23 and was charged with:
- making child pornography
- sexual assault
- sexual interference
- invitation to sexual touching
- making sexually explicit material available to a child
He was arrested on February 22nd, after a search by RCMP of Renous residence.
Several electronic devices were seized.
Chabanov remains in custody awaiting his next court date.
A court-imposed publication ban is in place to protect the identity of the victim, as well as any information that could potentially identify them.
