An inmate from the Atlantic Institution in Renous has died.
Correctional service officials say 56-year-old Houstan Henderson died Monday in hospital in Miramichi.
Henderson had been serving a four year prison term for break, enter and theft.
Police and the coroner have been notified and correctional service officials will be reviewing the matter.
