Remembering Mass Shooting Victims One Year Later

Sunday marks one year from the beginning of the deadliest mass shooting in Canadian history in Nova Scotia.

Flags will be at half mast throughout the province, and Province House will be lit up blue as a lone bagpiper plays while they lower their flags.

Many Nova Scotians will take part in a province-wide moment of silence this afternoon.

The province is asking residents to participate in two minutes of silence beginning at 3 p.m. in honour of those who lost their lives.

22 people lost their lives in the shooting, which began on the evening of April 18, 2020 and continued into the morning of April 19.
