Remembering 9/11

It was 14 years ago today that the world changed forever. Today, is the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In New Brunswick, a Firefighters Memorial Parade will be held in Fredericton.

It gets underway at 6:15pm and will include firefighters from right across the province.

A short service will be conducted on the waterfront at 7pm tonight.

Around 3000people were killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, when al-Qaida terrorists hijacked four planes.Two of them crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center. A third plane crashed into the Pentagon, and passengers and crew on the fourth plane overtook the terrorists, and crashed the plane in a rural part of southwestern Pennsylvania.

Yesterday, in Pennsylvania, a $26 million visitor complex opened to honour the victims of United Flight 93..
