A woman in her 60s and her adult son are homeless and another man is dead after a weekend fire in Johnville, 15 kilometers northeast of Florenceville. The two are getting emergency help from the Red Cross.

The RCMP were called to the home Friday night after receiving a report of a man barricaded inside.

The house and two adjacent sheds caught fire early Saturday morning and were destroyed.

The body of a man, identified as 45-year-old Anthony (Tony) Armour, was located outside the home. An autopsy will be held to determine how he died.
