The Canadian Red Cross is growing its health services in New Brunswick in a major way after being awarded a multi-year contract from the province.
It will be providing mobility aids to clients of the Department of Social Development’s Convalescent/Rehabilitation program and the Wheelchair/Seating program.
Provincial Director Bill Lawlor says they’ve hired 15 new staff members, including an occupational therapist and specialized equipment technicians based in Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John.
Lawlor says they’re ready to respond to every single community throughout the province and says if they need to expand the program in terms of hiring extra staff they are more than prepared to do so.
