The Canadian Red Cross and Kent Building Supplies are teaming up this month to help raise money for disaster relief in Atlantic Canada.
As Atlantic Canadians start preparing for winter which can mean more risk from extreme weather and colder temperatures, Kent is launching the campaign for Canadian Red Cross Disaster Preparedness.
Dan Bedell, Director of Communications for the Atlantic division of the Canadian Red Cross explains the campaign will work in all 42 Kent locations throughout Atlantic Canada. Money will be raised through donations at the checkouts.
The campaign will run from October 3 to November 7, with a goal of raising at least $25,000 through donations.
Every 1.5 days in the Atlantic region, Red Cross volunteers provide free emergency aid such as lodging, clothing and food to people forced from their homes by fires.
