RCMP Urge Safety At Pollett River Run

Today marks an annual tradition, the Pollett River Run.

Southeast RCMP are urging participants to be safe and make good choices, including wearing life jackets.

The day long event sees people float down the Pollett River near Elgin on boats, or other homemade watercraft.

RCMP are reminding people the snow melt plus recent rain means the river is running high and fast.

Police and other first responders will be in attendance to ensure everyone’s safety.

If you are attending, it’s recommended to bring at least one change of clothing to make sure you stay warm and dry.
