RCMP seek tips after home invasion in Moncton

The RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a home invasion in Moncton that sent a resident to the hospital.

Officers were called to a home on McSweeney Avenue at about 2:15 p.m. on December 26.

Police said two men forced their way inside the residence and assaulted a person who was later taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be non‑life‑threatening.

Mounties said the suspects left the area before officers arrived and were last seen driving toward Connaught Avenue.

Police said one man is described as Caucasian and the other as Black.

Both were believed to be between five‑foot‑ten and six feet tall and about 150 pounds, and both were wearing all black clothing.

RCMP said investigators are asking residents in the surrounding neighbourhood to check outdoor surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity recorded between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m. on the day of the incident.

Police are also asking anyone who was driving in the area at that time and has dash‑cam footage to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506‑857‑2400.

Information can also be shared anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1‑800‑222‑TIPS (8477) or through Secure Web Tips.
