RCMP Respond To Call About Pellet Gun In Downtown Area

You may have noticed a flurry of RCMP activity on Botsford street earlier today.

Officers received a call around 10 this morning about a man in a rooming house possibly with a handgun.

Sergeant Andre Pepin says they lost phone contact with the people in the house and had to secure the area.

“After a good half hour, we were able to get the people out of that main residence, and we were able to get in touch with the subject of complain,” says Sergeant Pepin.

He says after investigation the gun was determined to be a pellet gun.

Sergeant Pepin adds it is unlikely the man will face charges because no threats were really made, and it is not an illegal gun.
