RCMP Officer Expected To Recover After Incident On Confederation Bridge

An RCMP officer injured during a bizarre incident on the Confederation Bridge, is expected to make a full recovery.

Sergeant Leanne Butler says Constable Ryan Jewett is still being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, and is expected to be there until sometime next week.

Constable Jewett suffered several broken bones during the incident, on September 1st.

RCMP responded to calls of a suicidal male on the bridge, when he jumped into a bridge vehicle and dragged the officer for a considerable distance.

The officer managed to free himself before the pickup collided with two other vehicles.

28 year old Scott Alexander McNally of Borden-Carleton is facing numerous charges.
