RCMP officer charged with failing to yield

An RCMP officer has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act after an investigation by the Serious Incident Response Team.

The investigation arose out of a collision between an RCMP vehicle and a civilian vehicle at Steeves Mountain in April of this year.

The collision occurred while the RCMP vehicle was en route to an unrelated call.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries.

On Oct. 9, SiRT released its findings and revealed the officer had been charged with failing to yield under the Motor Vehicle Act.

The matter is currently before the courts.
