RCMP issue 118 tickets during enforcement operation

Mounties issued 118 tickets during a recent traffic enforcement operation in Greater Moncton.

Police said nearly half of the violations issued during last Friday’s operation involved speeding.

Others included using a cell phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, not having a current inspection, and having an expired registration.

RCMP Sgt. Ghislain David said it is the responsibility of the driver and the registered owner to ensure that all necessary documents are up-to-date.

Police said they also towed three vehicles, issued 23 warnings, and charged two people with driving with a suspended licence.
