The RCMP are investigating the death of a soldier who collapsed during physical training near the Gagetown military base. The soldier’s name has not been released. He was a member of the 5th Canadian Division Support Group Signal Squadron.
The Department of National Defence isn’t giving much information about what exactly happened but it does say in a release that the soldier was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead there. The department states the incident didn’t take place on their property.
The Canadian Armed Forces is offering condolences to the family.
