Speeders beware!
Codiac RCMP are cracking down on speeders in school zones after an increasing number of complaints from locals.
Since they began their crackdown, they have issued 17 speeding tickets, and 1 for distracted driving.
The highest speed recorded was 70 kilometres per hour, more than double the posted speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour.
Police are reminding drivers of the perils of speeding in school zones, including endangering children, and tickets that can cost anywhere from $340 to over $1200.
The RCMP say to expect an increased presence at school zones for the next few months.
