RCMP arrest two suspects in shooting incident

Two people have been charged in connection with a shooting that took place in Saint-Antoine.

On August 26, at around 4:40 a.m., Richibucto RCMP responded to reports of gunfire near a home on Camille Street.

Upon arrival, officers found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound, who was subsequently taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Between August 30 and September 1, the Southeast Crime Reduction Unit of the New Brunswick RCMP apprehended three suspects linked to the incident, with one being released under specific conditions for a future court date.

On September 4, a 31-year-old man was charged with attempted murder and remanded into custody.

That same day, an 18-year-old woman was also charged as an accessory to attempted murder and was released under strict conditions with a future court date.
