Metro Moncton saw its rainiest day in December ever yesterday.
Rainfall totals were obliterated with more than 120 mm on Wednesday.
The old record for December 10 was a mere 32 mm from 1975.
Environment Canada meteorologist Steven Hatt says it’s certainly unusual for this time of year.
“Usually this time of year Moncton gets a lot more snow. But certainly this much rain in one day… absolutely… it’s certainly unprecendented.”
The weather office says Metro Moncton has already received about three times the normal amount of rain for December.
