Rainfall warnings have now been issued for much of southern and eastern New Brunswick.
That includes Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley, Sussex, St. Stephen and Moncton.
Rain at times heavy will spread across the province Thursday morning with localized downpours possible throughout the day.
Environment Canada said we can expect 40 to 70 millimetres of rain, with higher amounts possible.
“Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” the national weather agency said.
Forecasters said the rain is expected to taper to showers overnight Thursday night, with scattered showers persisting into Friday.
