Small capsules containing vaccine bait will be distributed by hand in New Brunswick this month, which, when eaten by wildlife will vaccinate them against rabies.
Distribution of the bait will start July 10 in Fredericton and the St. Mary’s First Nation and on July 20 in Saint John.
For the communities of Woodstock, the Woodstock First Nation, McAdam, Harvey, St. Stephen, Saint Andrews, St. George, Blacks Harbour, Deer Island, Campobello Island, and Grand Bay-Westfield distribution will start July 31.
This vaccine bait isn’t harmful to humans, pets, livestock or the environment.
Aerial distribution will take place this year in August.
