The Town of Riverview is hosting a public information session about the upcoming infrastructure work at the intersection of Gunningsville Boulevard and Hillsborough Road.
The work includes adding a second left turn lane from the bridge, and on Coverdale Road.
As well, a second northbound through lane is being added on Gunningsville Boulevard, and a second receiving lane north and east of the intersection will be installed.
The existing right turn lane from Hillsborough Road onto the bridge will be converted to a yielding lane.
As part of the project, the bike trail on Gunningsville Boulevard will be extended to connect with the sidewalk and crosswalk on Coverdale.
Construction is planned between July 3rd, and August 31st with as much work as possible being done overnight to minimize disruption to the public.
The new configuration is designed to help reduce traffic and to meet capacity expected when the causeway is closed for six months.
The information session starts at 6 in the evening on June 12th and runs until 8 o’clock.
