Psych Assessment For Moncton Man Accused Of Kidnapping

A 30 day psychiatric assessment has been ordered for a Moncton man charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping.

A bail hearing was scheduled for John Jay Anderson in Moncton court yesterday, but instead, he was referred for the assessment.

Anderson will return to court on October 2nd.

The 21-year-old is facing numerous charges including committing a home invasion, assault, unlawful confinement and breaching a probation order.

He was arrested last Thursday, two days after a McLaughlin Road home was broken into and an 18 year old woman was allegedly taken against her will. She was released suffering from minor injuries.
