The New Brunswick Nurse Union does not endorse privatizing provincial healthcare.
President Marilyn Quinn says they are concerned about a proposed P3 partnership where the Gallant government would build a new nursing home facility in Miramichi.
Quinn says they have no committment from the government that if its privately built that it won’t be privately run as well.
She says if its privately managed there is no guarantee that the 300 employees in the Miramichi will be who moves to the new nursing home.
The New Brunswick Nurses Union would like government to consult with registered nurses on developing a long term plan to improve the public healthcare system.
