Provincial Government Lowers Small Business Tax Rate To 3.5% Today

The provincial Liberals are continuing to deliver on an election promise as they lower the small business tax rate today.

Finance Minister Roger Melanson announced the decrease to 3.5% as they move towards their promise of a 2.5% small business tax rate by 2018.

Small businesses subject to the small business tax rate are defined as having a taxable income of $500,000 or less each year.

Melanson says these changes will help New Brunswick small businesses remain competitive.
