FREDERICTON, NB–Two parks across the province are getting a financial boost from the provincial government.
$87, 000 was announced yesterday for a new community park in Doaktown. Premier Alward was on hand for the announcement, stating that this will benefit both residents and families in the community, as well as tourists to the region.
The park will be located at the centre of the village along Route 8, and will include a gazebo, open stage, benches, a walking path and a splash pad.
In Blackville, $80, 000 dollars will go towards park improvements.
It will be used towards phase two of a project that will see the ball field and boat ramp repaired, and a new shelter canopy will also be built.
